The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports on the results obtained from 'Operation Northern Border' on May 13, 2025.

Since the beginning of the operation on February 5, some 3,280 suspects have been arrested and 2,766 firearms, 442,951 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 13,634 magazines, 31,739.7 kg of drugs, including 177.77 kg of fentanyl, 2,574 vehicles, and 420 properties have been seized, acoording to the Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico.

These actions were carried out in strict compliance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:

– Baja California

Four rifles, 435 rounds of ammunition, 60 kilos of marijuana, and a vehicle were seized.

In Tijuana, a suspect was arrested and 10 rounds of ammunition, a rifle, and 10 vehicles were seized.

– Nuevo Leon

In Apodaca, four suspects were arrested and two rifles, a handgun, six magazines, 78 rounds of ammunition, 57 doses of marijuana, 112 doses of cocaine, cash, a gram scale, five cell phones, and two vehicles were seized.

In Juarez, two suspects were arrested and eight rounds of ammunition, a handgun, a magazine, three cell phones, 1.1 million pesos (equivalent to US$56,124) and a vehicle were seized.

– Sinaloa

In Elota, two suspects were arrested and two machine guns, five rifles, 59 magazines, 50 rounds of ammunition, a link belt, seven tactical vests, 14 ballistic plates, and two vehicles were seized.

In Cosalá, three storage facilities for different inputs for the production of methamphetamine were located and dismantled. During the operations, 1,370 liters of chemical substances and an organic synthesis reactor were seized. The economic impact on the criminal organizations is 29 million pesos (US$1.48 million).

– Sonora

In San Luis Río Colorado, 990 fentanyl pills were seized.

In Cajeme, three people who had been abducted were released, including a minor and five firearms, 14 magazines, 879 rounds of ammunition, 3.5 kilos of methamphetamine, two communication radios, nine gram scales, and three heat sealers were seized.
