The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) closed the first half of 2025 with a historic achievement, with net earnings of $22.3 million USD (414 million pesos), becoming the first company managed by the Mexican Army to post sustained profits since its launch.

According to official numbers, the airport generated revenues of $76.91 million USD (1.426 billion pesos) between January and June, driven by an increase in domestic and international routes, growing confidence from commercial airlines, and the strengthening of its logistics infrastructure.

This performance not only represents an improvement over 2024 but also marks a milestone for the national airport model, proving that it is possible to combine operational efficiency with principles of austerity and public service.

According to its management, AIFA earned an average profit of $2.43 USD (45 pesos) per passenger served, accelerating the recovery of its initial investment faster than expected.

Greater connectivity and a rebound in air cargo have boosted confidence among both users and the private sector, consolidating AIFA as a real and functional option within the Mexico City Metropolitan Area.

The result also represents an institutional victory for the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), which operates the airport through a state-owned company. It is the first civilian infrastructure managed by the Army to achieve profitability in such a short time, strengthening the role of the State in executing strategic projects for the country.
