In Durango, Clandestine Laboratories Dismantled, And 21 Tons Of Methamphetamine Seized

The actions were led by personnel from the Navy (Semar), together with Defense, FGR, GN, and SSPC

The economic impact on organized crime exceeds 6 billion pesos, and approximately 525 million doses were prevented from reaching the streets

In an operation led by the Secretaría de Marina (Semar) in coordination with the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Defense), Guardia Nacional (GN), and Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana (SSPC), two clandestine laboratories used for the production of illicit substances were located and dismantled, where approximately 21 tons of suspected methamphetamine were seized in the town of Carricitos, Durango.

This action took place during ground reconnaissance patrols when naval personnel located and dismantled the two clandestine laboratories. Approximately 21,000 kilograms of processed methamphetamine were seized on-site, along with various chemical precursors, including: 1,000 liters of hydrochloric acid, 200 liters of acetic acid, 1,000 liters of toluene, 200 liters of benzyl cyanide, 250 liters of P2P, 575 kilograms of caustic soda, and 200 kilograms of sodium cyanide.

The seized material was handed over to the corresponding Public Prosecutor’s Office agent, who will open the related investigation file and carry out subsequent inquiries.

It is important to note that this operation prevented more than 525,000,000 doses of drugs from reaching the streets and is estimated to have caused an economic loss to organized crime of 6,532,026,885 pesos.

The institutions of the Security Cabinet reaffirm their commitment to preventing drug distribution.
