Since the operation began on February 5, some 7,122 suspects have been arrested and 5,541 firearms, 980,371 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 26,448 magazines, 94,461.4 kg of drugs, including 386.9 kg of fentanyl, 4,768 vehicles, and 864 properties have been seized, according to the Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico.
These actions were carried out in strict accordance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:
– Baja California
In Tijuana and Mexicali, seven suspects were arrested and four handguns, 10 magazines, 42 rounds of ammunition, 305 doses of methamphetamine, 69 doses of marijuana, a motorcycle, and two vehicles, one of which had been reported stolen, were seized.
– Chihuahua
In Ciudad Juárez, a suspect was arrested, and 170 magazines and 500 rounds of ammunition were seized.
In another operation in Ciudad Juárez, a search was conducted at the Centro de Reinserción Social Estatal No. 3 prison and 9 sharp-edged weapons, three knives, three watches, a tablet, 34 unauthorized articles of tactical clothing, 11 pairs of sneakers, 12 cell phone chargers, 25 perfumes, 10 board games, five pairs of scissors, 43 packs of matches, and 28 lighters were seized.
– Sinaloa
In Badiraguato, Culiacán, and Cosalá, four storage facilities containing various materials for the production of synthetic drugs were located and dismantled. During the operations, 2,553 liters and 537 kilos of substances for the production of methamphetamine and two scales were seized. The economic impact on organized crime is 63 million pesos (US$3.38 million).
In Navolato, six firearms, 12 magazines, 300 rounds of ammunition, and two vehicles were seized.
– Sonora
In Huatabampo, two suspects were arrested and 1,951 doses of methamphetamine, 2,841 doses of marijuana, and a vehicle reported stolen were seized.
– Tamaulipas
In Reynosa, five rifles, 104 magazines, rounds of ammunition, tactical gear, two vehicles, one of them with homemade armor, and a property were seized.
In Tula, eight suspects were arrested and nine firearms, a submachine gun, 35 magazines, 2,640 rounds of ammunition, nine tactical vests, two Kevlar helmets, and three vehicles, one of them with homemade armor, were seized.
