Federal Authorities Arrest Priority Target And Violence Perpetrator In Baja California

As a result of interagency coordination, in Tijuana, Baja California, personnel from the Ministry of National Defense (Defense) and National Guard (GN), together officials from the Ministry of the Navy (Semar), the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR), arrested five members of a criminal cell, including Gustavo “N,” the main perpetrator of violence in the region.

Through intelligence work and surveillance of criminal organizations, the agents arrested Gustavo “N,” leader of a criminal cell operating in the region, who faces charges filed against him by U.S. authorities for drug trafficking. He is also identified as a priority target. Four other suspects were also arrested, and nine kilograms and 330 fentanyl pills, five firearms, ammunition of various calibers, and two properties were seized.

The detainees were informed of their legal rights and, along with the seized items, were handed over to the corresponding public prosecutor’s office, which will determine their legal status and compile the case file.

The institutions of the Security Cabinet reaffirm their commitment to contributing to the strengthening of security in the country, acting in coordination and in strict adherence to human rights.
