• In celebrating seven years of the Fourth Transformation, President Sheinbaum stressed that “true Transformation is not only economic and social, it is also moral. We have the responsibility to consolidate this Humanist model.”

• The Mexican President emphasized that the economic model of the Fourth Transformation works: 13.5 million Mexicans have been lifted out of poverty between 2018 and 2024, and Mexico is the second least unequal country in the hemisphere.

• Sheimbaum explained that in 2025 it was shown that Mexico can have a good relationship with the United States, always defending the country’s sovereignty, with collaboration but without subordination. Mexico is neither a colony nor a protectorate of anyone, and Mexicans working in the neighboring country will always be supported and defended.

Mexico City, December 6, 2025.— Before more than 600,000 supporters who gathered in the Zócalo square, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo marked the 7th anniversary of the start of the Fourth Transformation and stressed that despite smear campaigns and alliances of national and international conservative groups seeking foreign intervention, they will not defeat the people nor the country’s President. The movement represents a break with the old regime and a true economic, social, and moral transformation guided by the ideals of Mexican Humanism.

“Today, more than ever, Mexico advances with dignity, with justice, with unity, and with the invincible strength of its people. We have the responsibility to consolidate this Humanist model as a viable path for economic development, a viable model in the political and ethical domain, and for coexistence among all social sectors. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. We are not alone. Know that I will never betray you, and that every second of my life is devoted to building a just, free, independent, and sovereign Mexico. We, Mexican men and women, continue to call for consolidating the rebirth of Mexico and not losing—on the contrary, further igniting—the flame of hope. Keep on going—Mexico is an example to the world, and we continue making history. Long live the Transformation of Mexico! Long live Mexico!,” she declared.

The President emphasized that the economic model of the Fourth Transformation works and delivers results. Indeed, 3.5 million Mexicans have been lifted out of poverty between 2018 and 2024, and Mexico is the second least unequal country in the hemisphere thanks to the Well-Being Programs; the minimum wage rose from 88 pesos (US$4-84) per day in 2018 to 315 pesos (US$17.33) per day as of January 1, 2026—a 154 percent increase; inflation is under control and in October 2025 was 3.57 percent; Foreign Direct Investment reached a historic high in the third quarter of 2025 with more than US$40 billion; the Mexican peso closed Friday, December 5 at 18.18 to the dollar; 551,000 formal jobs have been created in 2025; the unemployment rate is 2.6 percent, one of the lowest in the world; and the Banco de México’s reserves reached a record US$250 billion.

Sheinbaum noted that the labor landscape has also changed, with respect for free and secret voting in union elections; the construction of Labor Conflict Conciliation and Arbitration Centers; reduced Retirement Fund Managers (Afore) commissions; the creation of the Well-Being Pension Fund; the elimination of subcontracting; social security for digital platform workers; and the submission to Congress of the labor reform proposal to establish a 40-hour workweek beginning in 2027.

She pointed out that in Mexico, the Well-Being programs are enshrined in the Constitution and are their benefits are provided to 32 million of the country’s 35 million families; healthcare improves day-by-day, distribution of medicines is guaranteed, and in 2026 the population will begin to obtain the credential for the Universal Health System. In education, more high schools are being built, increasing capacity by 37,500 places this year, as well as tuition-free universities offering 124,000 new spaces.

The President noted that under the Fourth Transformation, intentional homicides have decreased 34 percent from 2018 to date, unlike during the administrations of Felipe Calderón and Peña Nieto, during which this crime increased 250 percent.

In housing, construction has begun on 300,000 homes toward the goal of 1.2 million, and 5 million beneficiaries of the Infonavit and FOVISSSTE government housing agencies are receiving reductions on unpayable mortgage loans. All rights of Indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples are recognized; passenger train lines are being restored to connect northern and southern Mexico, including Mexico City-Pachuca, Mexico City-Querétaro, Querétaro-Irapuato, and Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo; the Mayan Train has transported 1.3 million passengers and is advancing its freight service; 17 strategic water projects are underway, and 18 irrigation districts are being modernized; the National Water Law was approved to restore water as a national resource; highways continue to be modernized and artisanal rural roads built; and Petroleos Mexicanos and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) have been recovered as state-owned companies.

Sheinbaum also explained that during 2025 it has been proven that Mexico can maintain a good relationship with the United States while always defending the country’s sovereignty, with collaboration but no subordination. Mexico is neither a colony nor a protectorate, and Mexicans working in the neighboring country will always be defended. The President noted that thanks to the Transformation, elections are free and clean, and mechanisms such as referendums and recall referendums exist; the people and the press are neither repressed nor censored—unlike the neoliberal era, which saw one of the country’s most authoritarian episodes, the attempt to bar former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador as a candidate.

The President of Mexico affirmed that the progress achieved in the country would not have been possible under past neoliberal governments or under the false flag of conservatism, as the right-wing has never believed in the rights of the Mexican people—unlike the Fourth Transformation, whose purpose and destiny is the well-being of the people of Mexico, particularly those with the least, because as the 4T saying goes, “for the good of all, the poor come first.”
