The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports the results obtained from the “Northern Border Operation” on March 4, 2025.
Since the start of the operation on February 5, there have been 1,103 people arrested, with 1,084 firearms, 119,968 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 4,329 magazines, 8496.22 pounds of drugs, including 26.263 pounds of fentanyl, 911 vehicles, and 118 properties have been seized.
The actions are carried out in strict adherence to the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following stand out:
- Baja California
Two people were arrested, one of them a U.S. citizen. Three magazines, 123 rounds of ammunition, 790 doses of methamphetamine, 229 doses of marijuana, five jars of cannabis oil, and two vehicles were seized. - Chihuahua
In Ciudad Juárez, six people were arrested, one of them a U.S. citizen. Five firearms, seven magazines, 203 rounds of ammunition, 24 doses of cocaine, two monkeys, and two vehicles were seized. - Nuevo León
In Guadalupe, 11 firearms, 16 magazines, 185 rounds of ammunition, tactical equipment, two vehicles, two motorcycles, and one property were seized. - Sinaloa
A clandestine laboratory dedicated to the manufacture of methamphetamine was located and disabled. Nine areas containing various materials used in its production were found. 8,680 liters and 805.12 pounds of chemicals for drug production were seized, along with two organic synthesis reactors, five condensers, two distillers, one centrifuge, and one mixer. The estimated economic impact on criminal organizations is 675 million pesos.
In Culiacán, four long firearms were seized, one of them a Barrett rifle, 33 magazines, 2,588 rounds of ammunition, five tactical vests, and one vehicle.
- Sonora
In Navojoa, six people were arrested, one person was rescued from captivity, and one property was seized.
In Huatabampo, one person was arrested, 13.60 pounds of fentanyl pills, two kg of powdered fentanyl, and one vehicle were seized.
- Tamaulipas
In San Fernando, two long firearms, 31 magazines, 258 rounds of ammunition, and one tactical vest were seized.
