The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports on the results obtained from “Operation Northern Border” on March 7, 8, and 9, 2025.
Since the beginning of the operation on February 5, some 1,287 suspects have been arrested and 1,192 firearms, 143,734 cartridges of various calibers, 4,642 magazines, 19,761.81 kg of drugs, including 57.90 kg of fentanyl, 1,033 vehicles, and 142 properties have been seized.
The actions were carried out in strict compliance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following are the most significant:
- Chihuahua
In Ciudad Juárez, four suspects were arrested and two rifles, two magazines, 57 cartridges, and a vehicle were seized.
In another action, in Ciudad Juarez, a member of a state public security institution was arrested and a handgun, a magazine, 8,497 cartridges, and a vehicle were seized.
- Nuevo Leon
In Apodaca, four suspects were arrested and a rifle, a handgun, two magazines, 36 cartridges, 101 doses of methamphetamine, three doses of marijuana, five cell phones, and a vehicle were seized. - Sinaloa
A clandestine methamphetamine lab as well as 13 areas concentrating different material for the production of methamphetamine were located and dismantled. During the operations 16,680 liters and 1,065 kilos of substances for the production of methamphetamine and seven organic synthesis reactors were seized.
In Mazatlán, three suspects were arrested and three rifles, two handguns, magazines, and live ammunition were seized.
- Sonora
In Cajeme, three suspects were arrested and two firearms, 43 cartridges, two magazines, and doses of marijuana and methamphetamine were seized.
In Nogales, three suspects were arrested and a rife, a magazine, 24 cartridges, tactical gear, and a vehicle were seized.
- Tamaulipas
In Camargo, three vehicles were seized, one of which had homemade armor, along with 250 doses of marijuana.
