* The President recalled that the agreements state that Mexico will cooperate to prevent fentanyl and other drugs from reaching the United States and the United Sates will help prevent weapons from entering Mexico.

President Claudia Sheinbaum declared that the coordination agreements with the U.S. government are working, on the heels of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announcement that on March 17 at the Del Rio International Bridge, U.S. agents seized weapons from the United States that were to enter Mexico.

“Coordination is indeed working. We are continuing with the border operation to prevent fentanyl from reaching the United States and they are helping us to prevent weapons from entering Mexico,” she said.

Sheinbaum noted that the agreements with the U.S. government stipulate that Mexico will cooperate to prevent fentanyl and other drugs from reaching the United States, while U.S. authorities will help prevent weapons from entering Mexico

She said that CBP reported that during this seizure, six weapons, 26 magazines and 182 rounds of ammunition in a truck were impounded.
