Unlike previous versions, inclusivity will be the guiding principle of this Tianguis Turístico de México, prioritizing that everyone will be part of the biggest tourism festival in the Americas.
This was stated by the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, who specified that, at this year’s event, everyone is invited to be part of all the activities that will take place.
“It’s a tianguis for everyone. Today, the public can get involved because now it goes beyond being a tour operator. Everyone can participate in the activities inside and outside the convention center. And we share it with another country,” said the official.
When presenting the details of the Tianguis Turístico, she explained that the activities would not be limited to the convention center, with celebrations also taking place in different parts of the state and in San Diego, California.
This is the first Tianguis that is taking place in two countries. Rodríguez Zamora praised the culinary and cultural event being held in Liberty Station, “La Ventana de México en San Diego”, which will be free and open to the public on April 26 and 27, 2025, where attendees will be able to learn more about the tourist attractions in Mexico.
She added that, to promote urban cuisine as a tourist and cultural attraction, the “Great Taco of Mexico” will be held on May 1 and 2, on the esplanade of the Tijuana Cultural Center, free of charge.
This urban culinary festival will bring together 32 cuisines representing the states of Mexico in a circular format, with a central stage featuring traditional shows and exhibitions, displays and sales of tacos from all over Mexico, as well as live music and cultural performances.
Rodríguez Zamora emphasized that this festival will also be the first to hold the Captains’ Dialogue, where governors, state secretaries of tourism, industry leaders, associations, chambers, international buyers and sponsors will hold strategic dialogues in two panels on key issues such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup and community tourism.
Additionally, she announced that, as part of the promotion of the latter, Baja California will form part 13 Community Tourism polygons so that authorities from the three levels of government will work together to promote connectivity and infrastructure in order to involve local communities in the development and management of tourism activities.
She announced some of the conferences and workshops that will be held at the Baja California Center, such as: “Big Data: data analysis to create opportunities”, “Mayan communities in action: ecotourism in the Sian Ka’an Reserve”, “Community Tourism: trips with indigenous communities”, and “Social media management: making the most of personalizing tourist experiences”, among others.
In view of this, she invited all those interested to visit the official website of Tianguis Turístico 2025, where they can find the program, the venues where activities will take place, registration for buyers and exhibitors, suggested hotels, transportation routes, and more information.
In her turn, the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, explained that this Tianguis is unique, “because it brings us together with the whole world. We have received confirmation from 775 companies and 1,159 registered buyers from 35 countries”.

“In Playas de Rosarito, at the Baja California Center, we will welcome visitors from all over the world, and at the same time, San Diego will be our window to Mexico, with culinary and cultural events at Liberty Station on April 26 and 27, and the closing of the event on our Revolución Avenue, with Nortec and the Baja California Orchestra,” she said.
