The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports on the results obtained from Operation Northern Border on April 1, 2025, acoording to the Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico.
Since the beginning of the operation on February 5, some 2,009 suspects have been arrested and 1,874 firearms, 299,080 rounds of various types of ammunition, 9,243 magazines, 24,343.539 kg of drugs, including 129.24 kg of fentanyl, 1,675 vehicles, and 243 properties have been seized.
These actions were carried out in strict compliance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following are the most significant:
– Baja California
In Mexicali, three suspects were arrested and three firearms, four magazines, 106 rounds of ammunition, tactical gear, a walkie-talkie, and a vehicle were seized.
In Ensenada, 11 cameras irregularly installed in public spaces were located and removed.
– Chihuahua
In Ciudad Juarez, two suspects were arrested and US$127,375, equivalent to 2.59 million pesos, and a vehicle were seized.
– Sinaloa
A suspect was arrested and two firearms, three magazines, 202 rounds of ammunition, 539 doses of methamphetamine, 13 doses of marijuana, three doses of cocaine, 128 tire spikes, three vehicles, and three motorcycles were seized.
Nine storage facilities for methamphetamine inputs were located and dismantled. During the operations, 4,350 liters and 300 kilos of substances for the production of methamphetamine and four organic synthesis reactors were seized. The economic impact on the criminal organizations was almost 1.81 billion pesos (US$88.61 million).
– Sonora
44 rounds of ammunition, a handgun, 250 doses of methamphetamine, 185 doses of marijuana, and a vehicle were seized.
– Tamaulipas
In Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, two rifles, two magazines, 20 rounds of ammunition, and a vehicle were seized.
