In Zapopan, Jalisco, personnel from the Ministry of National Defense (Defense) and members of the National Guard (GN) searched a home where they detained José Gabriel Soto Martínez, 26 years old, alias “Uber”, leader of a criminal cell, considered one of the main generators of violence in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, where he was in charge of drug trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, homicide, and arms trafficking operations.

Soto Martínez was arrested along with Mauricio Cruz Arzola and Carlos Alberto Quezada Ceja. During the operation, a rifle, two pistols, three magazines, ammunition, 500 doses of methamphetamine, five vehicles, a property, and 10 cell phones were seized

In Tepic, Nayarit, personnel from Defensa, the GN, and the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR) arrested Luis Ignacio Cárdenas de Luna, 46 years old, alias “Cárdenas”.

Cárdenas, regional cartel operator in Nayarit and Jalisco, coordinated drug transfers via air and sea, using small aircraft and vessels, through a network of airstrips and ports, and also maintained communication with financial agents to carry out operations with illicit proceeds for the criminal group.

The detainees are linked to the “Jalisco New Generation Cartel”.
