- More than 700 kilos of methamphetamine and various chemical precursors were seized
- The laboratories were completely disabled and destroyed to prevent their being reused
As part of ongoing actions to uphold the rule of law, Navy personnel in coordination with the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Ministry of National Defense (Defensa), and the National Guard (GN), in two separate operations, located and neutralized clandestine laboratories used for the production of synthetic drugs in the states of Durango, Sinaloa, and Michoacán.
The first operation took place during a land patrol in the town of Carricitos, Durango, where a clandestine drug laboratory was uncovered. Authorities seized 1,150 liters and 695 kilos of chemical precursors and materials used for producing synthetic drugs.
The laboratory had extensive operating areas, materials, and equipment for synthetic drug production, all of which were completely disabled to prevent their reuse.
In a second operation, in Sinaloa, in the town of Los Cedros, authorities located and dismantled another clandestine drug laboratory, where they seized approximately 750 kilos of finished products, as well as 1,150 liters and 695 kilos of chemical precursors.
In the state of Michoacán, in the town of La Escondida, and in coordination with personnel from the State Department of Public Security, a laboratory was located and dismantled, yielding 9,700 liters and 500 kilos of chemical precursors, as well as laboratory equipment and tools.
The complete destruction of these laboratories represents a significant blow to the logistical structures of organized crime and prevents these illicit substances from reaching society.
With these actions, the institutions of the Security Cabinet reaffirm their commitment to locating and disabling laboratories and storage facilities used in the production of synthetic drugs in the country, and to preventing these substances from reaching the streets.
