Mexico’s Minister of the Interior Rosa Icela Rodríguez announced that President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo is being accompanied by four members of her cabinet on her visit to Canada to participate in the annual G7 summit.
The Mexican President traveled with the delegation of ministers on a commercial flight in the early morning hours of Monday, heading to Alberta, where this year’s summit is being held at the Kananaskis Village resort, located in western Canada.
President Sheinbaum is accompanied by:
- Juan Ramón de la Fuente, head of the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
- Marcelo Ebrard, head of the Ministry of Economy.
- Omar García Harfuch, head of the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection.
- Edgar Amador, head of the Ministry of Finance.
Sheinbaum is expected to take part in plenary sessions during the summit alongside international leaders, aiming to strengthen relations among the participating nations.
The agenda also includes multilateral meetings, including scheduled encounters with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney —the summit host who personally invited the Mexican President— and her U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump.
The event, which brings together the leaders of the world’s seven largest economies, is taking place from June 15 to 17.
Sheinbaum shared three photos on her X social media account, announcing her departure from Mexico City in route to the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Canada.
This marks the President’s third international trip, following her attendance at the G20 Summit in Brazil in November 2024 and the CELAC meeting in Honduras in April of this year.
