Minister of Tourism Josefina Rodríguez Zamora reported that during the Holy Week and Easter holiday period, tourism-related revenue reached 285.6 billion pesos (approximately US$14.55 billion), a 5.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
“The sector of good news continues to strengthen national economic development and bring Shared Prosperity to the residents of local communities,” the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) said in an official statement.
Rodríguez Zamora highlighted that the results obtained during Holy Week and Easter reflect the confidence of national tourists in the products and services offered by various destinations throughout Mexico, which in turn generated employment and social well-being for Mexicans.
She added that from Saturday, April 12 to April 27, a total of 14.86 million tourists traveled within Mexico, a 2.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The Minister also reported that 6.62 million tourists stayed in hotels—2.3 percent more than in 2024—of whom 73.8 percent were domestic tourists and 26.2 percent international tourists.
In addition, 8.23 million tourists chose alternative accommodations such as second homes, staying with family or friends, or obtaining lodging via digital platforms. This marked a 3.1 percent increase compared to 2024.
