From January to April of this year, Mexico received 7.86 million international tourists who arrived by air, a 4.8 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Mexican Minister of Tourism Josefina Rodríguez Zamora noted that the data is based on figures from the Ministry of the Interior’s Migration Policy, Registry, and Identity of Persons Unit.

“The sustained growth in tourist arrivals is a strong indicator that tourism in Mexico is on the right track. We will continue working to make tourism a driver of well-being for everyone involved in the vast tourism value chain,” she said.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) highlighted that the main countries of residence of foreign tourists arriving by air to Mexico during the first four months of 2025 were the United States, Canada, and Argentina.

Together, these markets accounted for almost 6.62 million tourists, representing increases of 8.6 percent and 28.4 percent compared to the same periods in 2024 and 2019, respectively.

The Minister specified that during the first quarter of 2025, almost 5 million U.S. resident tourists arrived in Mexico by air—6.9 percent more than in 2024 and 33.8 percent above 2019 numbers.

In addition, there was a 12.6 percent increase in air arrivals of Canadian residents during the first four months of the year, with more than 1.47 million arrivals compared to the previous year.

From January to April 2025, air arrivals of Argentine residents reached 144,551, a 33.8 percent increase compared to 2024.
