● In actions led by the Navy, the results of maritime operations amount to 48 tons of cocaine seized during the current presidential administration
● Approximately 3.2 billion doses of drugs were prevented from reaching young people
As part of the actions to prevent illicit substances from reaching the streets, in a maritime operation off the coast of Guerrero, approximately 1,600 kilos of cocaine was seized in the open sea, southwest of Acapulco. Personnel from the Ministry of the Navy (Semar) through the Coast Guard participated in the operation. They did so as part of the Security Cabinet, which is comprised of the ministries of National Defense (Defensa) and Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the National Guard (GN), and the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR).

This action was carried out during maritime and aerial surveillance patrols to maintain the rule of law, in which ships and aircraft of the Mexican Navy participated, tracking identified routes of suspected vessels engaged in illegal activities. As a result, 54 sacks were identified and seized, which upon inspection were found to contain between 30 and 10 sets of packages for a total of 1,600 packages containing approximately 1,600 kilograms of cocaine.
As a result, all of the seized items were turned over to the competent authorities, who will compile the corresponding investigation file.

This seizure brings the total amount of drugs seized at sea during the current administration to more than 48 tons.
In addition, approximately 3.2 billion doses were prevented from reaching young people, which also represents an economic loss to criminal groups of 371.80 billion pesos (US$19.96 billion).
These security measures are part of maritime, air, and land surveillance operations carried out to deter crime and ensure and maintain the rule of law in Mexican territorial waters.
