Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism reported that, according to information from the Sinaloa State Tourism Department, the city of Mazatlán began the holiday period with a hotel occupancy rate of 83 percent.

Minister of Tourism Josefina Rodríguez Zamora said that this figure demonstrates tourists’ confidence in visiting Mazatlán. According to expectations, occupancy could reach 90 percent on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Holy Week.

She also mentioned that collaboration with state and municipal governments will continue to position the “Pearl of the Pacific” as a leading national and international tourist destination.

Rodríguez Zamora invited tourists to continue visiting this destination, which in the coming months will host major international events such as the Mexi Log Fest Surf Tournament, as well as the Day of Music celebration featuring more than 200 artists, and the Amigos de Mazatlán Festival.

In addition, high-profile sporting events will take place, including the El Cid Golf Tournament, the Pacific Marathon and Triathlon, and CicloTour Mazatlán.

“Mazatlán is a place full of diverse tourist attractions, offering a perfect mix of history, culture, natural beauty, culinary options, arts, and entertainment. Its golden sand beaches, vibrant nightlife, and the warm hospitality of its people promise unforgettable experiences for visitors,” she said.

State Minister of Tourism Mireya Sosa Osuna reported that Mazatlán is expected to receive 190 cruise ships by 2026 — 47 more than in 2025 — a 32.9 percent increase over this year.

She indicated that Mazatlán is ready to welcome thousands of visitors this Holy Week and Easter, as it has much to offer and continues to constantly diversify its tourist attractions.
