Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will hold her first in-person meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump this Tuesday during the G7 Summit taking place in Kananaskis, Canada.

The bilateral meeting is scheduled from 3:40 to 4:40 p.m. and is expected to be a key moment in the relationship between the two countries, particularly on issues such as immigration, trade, and security cooperation.

This meeting comes at a tense time for President Trump, who is facing a wave of protests both in the United States and abroad.

Civil society organizations, human rights advocates, and immigrant rights groups have demonstrated in recent weeks against his restrictive policies and anti-immigrant rhetoric, which have intensified since his return to office.

In Canada, the summit has been the backdrop for marches and public expressions of opposition to the U.S. president, particularly due to his stance on the climate crisis and minority rights.

Sheinbaum is also scheduled to meet with other international leaders, including Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney; Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi; President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen; President of the European Council António Costa; and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. These meetings are part of her agenda at the summit, where Mexico is participating as an invited guest.

The Mexican President has reiterated her commitment to a foreign policy based on mutual respect, sovereignty, and international cooperation. In her conversation with Trump, she is expected to address key issues such as the protection of immigrant rights, regional development, and bilateral economic ties.

The G7 Summit, which brings together the world’s major economies, is taking place from June 15 to 17 and is focused this year on global governance, energy transition, technological innovation, and geopolitical challenges.
