The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports on the results obtained from 'Operation Northern Border' on April 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20, 2025

Since the beginning of the operation on February 5, some 2,582 suspects have been arrested and 2,255 firearms, 364,677 rounds of various types of ammunition, 11,371 magazines, 27,259.46 kg of drugs, including 163.35 kg of fentanyl, 2,082 vehicles, and 317 properties have been seized.

These actions were carried out in strict compliance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:

  • Baja California
    In Ensenada, a suspect was arrested and 427 kilos of methamphetamine and a tractor-trailer were seized.

In Tijuana, a U.S. citizen was arrested and a handgun, two magazines, 15 rounds of ammunition, and a vehicle were seized.

Nine suspects were arrested, four of them U.S. nationals, and 30 rounds of ammunition, a handgun, three magazines, a dose of methamphetamine, eight doses of marijuana, 25 doses of cocaine, and a vehicle were seized.

  • Chihuahua
    In Madera, 27 magazines, 2,179 rounds of ammunition, five cartridge belts, 12 improvised explosive devices, a machine gun, a rifle, 15 kilos of explosives, doses of cocaine and marijuana, six ballistic vests, five ballistic plates and three vehicles were seized.

In Moris, a suspect was arrested and three rifles, 34 magazines, 895 rounds of ammunition, and three kilos of marijuana were seized.

  • Coahuila
    In Saltillo, 64 kilos of marijuana and a property were seized.
  • Nuevo Leon
    Four suspects were arrested and two handguns, magazines, rounds of ammunition, drugs, a cell phone, and a scale were seized.

In Apodaca, three firearms, seven magazines, 216 rounds of ammunition, and a vehicle were seized.

  • Sinaloa
    12 storage facilities for methamphetamine inputs were located and dismantled. During the operations, 11,840 liters and 300 kilos of substances for the production of drugs, an organic synthesis reactor, and two lab condensers were seized. The economic impact on the criminal organizations was 267 million pesos (US$13.54 million).

In Escuinapa, three suspects were arrested and eight firearms, a grenade launcher attachment, 23 magazines, 772 rounds of ammunition, eight grenades, three tactical vests, 18 cell phones, and two vehicles, one with factory armor were seized.

  • Sonora
    In Puerto Peñasco, four rifles, 29 magazines, 630 rounds of ammunition, six tactical vests, and nine ballistic plates were seized.

In another operation, four suspects were arrested and five magazines, a handgun, 32 rounds of ammunition, 192 doses of methamphetamine, 115 doses of marijuana, 33 doses of cocaine, two vehicles, and a motorcycle reported stolen in the United States, and tire spikes were seized.

  • Tamaulipas
    In Ocampo, a vehicle with homemade armor was seized.

In Nuevo Laredo, a U.S. citizen was arrested and 40 rounds of ammunition, a rifle, a magazine, and a vehicle were seized.
