The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports on the results obtained from Operation Northern Border on April 2 , 2025, acoording to the Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico.

Since the beginning of the operation on February 5, some 2,048 suspects have been arrested and 1,891 firearms, 302,305 rounds of different types of ammunition, 9,370 magazines, 24,422.54 kg of drugs, including 129.24 kg of fentanyl, 1,715 vehicles, and 249 properties have been seized.

These actions were carried out in strict compliance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:

– Baja California
Two suspects were arrested, one of them a U.S. citizen, and 125 rounds of ammunition, 55 doses of methamphetamine, 32 doses of marijuana, and a vehicle were seized.

In Playas de Rosarito, four suspects were arrested and 55 kilos of cocaine, eight kilos of methamphetamine, and a vehicle were seized.

– Nuevo Leon
In Guadalupe, five firearms, four magazines, 95 rounds of ammunition, 10 kilos of marijuana, a tactical vest, a vehicle, and a property were seized.

– Sinaloa
In Salvador Alvarado, two rifles, eight magazines, 220 rounds of ammunition, two grenades, four ballistic vests, a kevlar helmet, 30 tire spikes, and a vehicle were seized.

Thirteen storage facilities for different methamphetamine inputs were located and dismantled. During the operations, 6,540 liters and 125 kilos of substances for the production of the drug and two organic synthesis reactors were seized. The economic impact on the criminal organizations was 150 million pesos (US$7.36 million).

– Sonora
Five suspects were arrested and 57 doses of marijuana, 30 doses of methamphetamine, four slot machines, and a property were seized.

In Ciudad Obregón, a suspect was arrested, two persons who had been abducted were set free and six rounds of live ammunition, a firearm, and a magazine were seized.

– Tamaulipas
In Reynosa, 114 rounds of ammunition, a firearm and four vehicles were seized, two of which were armored.
