The Mexican Government’s Security Cabinet reports on the results obtained from “Operation Northern Border” on August 11, 2025.
Since the operation began on February 5, some 6,232 suspects have been arrested and 4,926 firearms, 831,583 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 23,123 magazines, 57,349.41 kg of drugs, including 311.89 kg of fentanyl, 4,360 vehicles, and 775 properties have been seized.
The actions were carried out in strict accordance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:
– Baja California
In Tijuana and Mexicali, five suspects were arrested, two of them minors, and a rifle, a magazine, 28 rounds of ammunition, 102 doses of methamphetamine, 38 doses of marijuana, and a motorcycle were seized.
– Chihuahua
In Cd. Madera, four suspects were arrested and three rifles, 13 magazines, 200 rounds of ammunition, a fragmentation helmet, and a vehicle were seized.
– Sinaloa
In Culiacán, five storage facilities concentrating various inputs for the production synthetic drugs were located and dismantled. During the operations, 3,550 liters and 25 kilos of substances for the production of methamphetamine, an organic synthesis reactor, and a lab condenser were seized. The economic impact on organized crime is 73 million pesos (US$3.93 million).
In Culiacán, a machine gun, seven magazines, four linked belts, 862 rounds of ammunition, six ballistic plates, a motorcycle, and a vehicle were seized.
– Sonora
In San Luis Río Colorado, two rifles, 12 magazines, 350 rounds of ammunition, a tactical vest, and a vehicle reported stolen were seized.
In Cajeme, two rifles, 17 magazines, 431 live rounds of ammunition, 2,400 packets of methamphetamine, 1,558 packets of marijuana, a property, and a vehicle were seized.
– Tamaulipas
In Miguel Alemán, a vehicle with homemade armor was seized.
