Since the operation began on February 5, some 9,679 suspects have been arrested and 7,236 firearms, 1,237,207 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 33,237 magazines, and 114,132.6 kg of drugs (including 544 kg of fentanyl), 5,784 vehicles, and 1,143 properties have been seized, according to the Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico.
These actions were carried out in strict accordance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:
– Baja California
In Tijuana, five suspects were arrested, and five firearms, magazines, rounds of ammunition, nine kilograms of fentanyl and 330 fentanyl pills, and two properties were seized.
– Chihuahua
In Aldama, 11 suspects were arrested, and 12 long guns, three machine guns, two Barrett rifles, 111 magazines, a hand grenade, nine improvised explosive devices, 4,775 rounds of ammunition, 13 tactical vests, and three vehicles were seized.
– Nuevo León
In Apodaca and Escobedo, four suspects were arrested, and two handguns, two magazines, nine rounds of ammunition, 85 doses of methamphetamine, 27 doses of marijuana, five doses of cocaine, a digital scale, two cell phones, cash, a vehicle, and a motorcycle were seized.
– Sinaloa
In Culiacán and Cosalá, 12 storage facilities containing various materials used in the production of synthetic drugs were located and dismantled. During the operations, 13,135 liters and 300 kilos of substances used in the production of methamphetamine, an organic synthesis reactor, and a mixer were seized. The economic impact on organized crime is 271 million pesos (US$14.84 million).
In Escuinapa, 15 rifles, magazines, rounds of ammunition, 70 improvised explosive devices, tactical equipment, and a vehicle were seized.
– Sonora
In Cajeme, 34 rounds of ammunition, doses of methamphetamine, a vehicle, and a property were seized.
