Since the operation began on February 5, some 5,255 suspects have been arrested and 4,315 firearms, 693,773 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 20,487 magazines, 44,953.5 kg of drugs, including 282.89 kg of fentanyl, 3,855 vehicles, and 674 properties have been seized, according to the Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico.
These actions were carried out in strict accordance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:
– Baja California
In Tijuana, a suspect was arrested and a tractor-trailer was seized that was transporting 61 packages containing 68.84 kg of methamphetamine and two packages containing 2.5 kg of cocaine.
In Mexicali, three suspects were arrested and 44 kilograms of methamphetamine and 26 kilograms of cocaine were seized.
– Chihuahua
In Juárez, two suspects were arrested, including a minor, and 22 weapons, 13 magazines, and 910 rounds of ammunition were seized.
In Coyame del Sotol, four suspects were arrested and six individuals who had been abducted were released. Eight firearms, 41 magazines, 2,440 live rounds of ammunition, seven ballistic vests, 11 ballistic plates, 11 improvised explosive devices, 85 doses of marijuana, and a backhoe were seized.
– Sinaloa
In Cosalá, three rifles, 19 magazines, 180 rounds of ammunition, 10 kilos of methamphetamine, and a vehicle reported stolen were seized. In another operation in the same municipality, a storage facility where inputs for the production of methamphetamine were concentrated was located and dismantled, and 1,050 liters of chemicals were seized. The economic impact on organized crime is estimated at 21 million pesos (US$1.12 million):
– Sonora
In Guaymas, 12.5 kilograms of cocaine, nine kilograms of methamphetamine, and 500 grams of marijuana were seized.
In Cajeme, four suspects were arrested and 1,440 doses of methamphetamine, four sealing machines, and a gram scale were seized.
– Tamaulipas
In San Fernando, three suspects were arrested and four rifles, 29 magazines, 530 rounds of ammunition, a tactical vest, and a vehicle with homemade armor were seized.
In Nuevo Laredo, five tanker-trucks containing 575,000 liters of hydrocarbons were seized.
