The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports on the most important actions undertaken on December 17, 2025

  • In Veracruz, during an inspection at a customs facility, personnel from the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and Semar seized 96 kilograms of a hallucinogen.

The Security Cabinet reports on the most significant operations undertaken on December 17, 2025, as part of the National Security Strategy, which includes four lines of action: addressing root causes; consolidation of the National Guard; strengthening intelligence and investigative work; and coordination with state and local authorities.

BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR:

– In Guerrero Negro, personnel from the FGR, SSPC, and the Mexican Army executed a search warrant at a property where they seized 250 kilograms of marijuana.

– In La Paz, Semar and State Police personnel, while conducting security patrols, arrested three suspects and seized 13 vehicles—eight of them reported stolen—a handgun, two magazines, and a communication radio.

– In Comondú, in San Luis Gonzaga, Semar, Prosecutor’s Office, and State Police personnel seized four rifles, six handguns, three vests, three ballistic plates, a vehicle, uniforms, and tactical boots.

COAHUILA:

– In Saltillo, personnel from the FGR, National Guard (GN), the Mexican Army, State Police, and Municipal Police executed a search warrant at a property, seizing 12 kilograms of methamphetamine and doses of marijuana.

COLIMA:

– In Manzanillo, Semar and Municipal Police personnel arrested three suspects and seized five homemade firearms, ammunition, various doses of methamphetamines, and a grenade.

HIDALGO:

– In Tula de Allende, in the community of Teocalco, personnel from the FGR, SSPC, GN, and Mexican Army seized a rifle, a magazine, 30 rounds of ammunition, 3,500 liters of fuel, four vehicles, a motorcycle, 200 meters of high-pressure hose, and an illegal tap.

PUEBLA:

– In Puebla, at the Morelos Market, personnel from the FGR, GN, Mexican Army, Semar, Prosecutor’s Office, and State Police executed search warrants at two commercial premises, seizing four rifles, two handguns, four magazines, 96 rounds of ammunition, 166 doses of methamphetamine, half a kilogram of marijuana, nine tactical vests, and four ballistic plates.

QUINTANA ROO:

– In Felipe Carrillo Puerto, personnel from the GN, Mexican Army, Semar, Prosecutor’s Office, and State Police freed an individual who had been unlawfully detained and seized seven rifles, five handguns, 29 magazines, 725 rounds of ammunition, six tactical vests, eight grenades, tire spikes, and two vehicles reported stolen.

SINALOA:

– In Escuinapa, Semar personnel, while conducting security patrols, dismantled two clandestine encampments and seized 430 rounds of ammunition, 14 magazines, 38 improvised explosive devices, 15 vests, 16 pixelated pants, 13 drone batteries, five drone chargers, and a vehicle.

– In Culiacán, at the Aguaruto Penitentiary Center, personnel from the GN, Mexican Army, and State Police seized 24 cell phones, 38 cell phone chargers, three chargers for radio communication equipment, 15 SIM cards, eight USB flash drives, a Wi-Fi amplifier, 14 knives, four pairs of scissors, two pliers, and 10 blunt objects.

VERACRUZ:

– In Veracruz, personnel from the FGR, SSPC, and Semar, during an inspection at a customs facility, seized 96 kilograms of a hallucinogen.

IN ACTIONS AGAINST DRUG PRODUCTION AND TRAFFICKING

In Cosalá, Sinaloa, in the communities of Santa Cruz de Alaya, Palmar de los Ceballos, and Ipucha, Mexican Army personnel located and dismantled four storage facilities containing various materials and 3,489 liters of chemical substances.

The economic impact on organized crime is 69 million pesos (US$3.83 million).

IN THE FIGHT AGAINST FUEL THEFT

In Pénjamo, Guanajuato, near the Salamanca–Guadalajara pipeline, personnel from the National Guard and PEMEX Physical Security seized 13,000 liters of gasoline, a storage center, and five containers of different capacities.
