Sheinbaum Earns 80% Approval Rating in First Months of Presidency: Enkoll

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo enjoys strong public support, registering an 80% approval rating during the first 10 months of her administration, according to the latest survey conducted by Enkoll for El País and W Radio.

When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the job Claudia Sheinbaum is doing as President of Mexico?”, eight out of ten respondents expressed approval, 17% disapproved, and 3% said they didn’t know.

The study highlights that social wellbeing programs are seen as the government’s most significant achievement by 43% of those surveyed. Other top mentions include combating public insecurity (13%) and managing the relationship with the U.S. government, led by Donald Trump (5%).

In terms of general perception, 76% of respondents said they had a “good” or “very good” opinion of the president; 8% said their opinion was “neutral,” and 16% had a “bad” or “very bad” impression.

Regarding the country’s direction under Sheinbaum’s leadership, 66% believe Mexico’s situation is improving, 25% said it is worsening, 6% feel it remains the same, and 3% did not respond.

The survey also explored trust in Sheinbaum’s handling of international relations. When asked, “How much confidence do you have in how the President is handling the bilateral relationship with Donald Trump?”, 69% said they had “considerable” or “some” confidence, while 28% had “little” or “no” confidence.

Sheinbaum also received high ratings for her personal attributes:

• 93% consider her hardworking
• 86% say she is approachable
• 86% believe she is well prepared for the role
• 74% see her as honest and reliable

The poll confirms that Sheinbaum retains strong public backing during the early phase of her presidency, driven by continuity in social programs and a leadership style perceived as close to the people.
