Tristan Ryan Perkins, a young boy from Texas, has taken social media by storm with a powerful message in defense of Mexico.

Despite his young age, Tristan has gone viral through his Instagram account (@tristanryanperkins), in which he posted a video denouncing how the United States has historically treated Mexico, while praising the solidarity the neighboring country has shown toward the United States in times of crisis.

“It’s crazy how much Mexico helps us considering how much we screw them,” says Perkins in the video, which has already amassed thousands of views, shares, and supportive comments in both English and Spanish.

The boy doesn’t hold back in criticizing controversial decisions made by U.S. presidents such as Donald Trump. He reminded viewers that Trump not only threatened to invade Mexico but also proposed building a $60 million wall along the border — and even insisted that Mexico should pay for it. “Trump also added unnecessary tariffs on Mexico,” he added.

In a surprisingly reflective tone for someone his age, Perkins also references the historical relationship between the two nations: “In the 1800s, we stole a bunch of land from them. Don’t say conquered — we stole it.” He continues, “And don’t say I don’t love my country. I love my country enough to hold it accountable for its own actions.”

But his message isn’t just about history. With genuine emotion, he highlights Mexico’s willingness to help during U.S. emergencies: “Who was there first during the Texas floods? Not Christy Noem, not Trump, not FEMA. It was Mexico. Who was there during the California fires earlier this year saving lives? Mexico.”

The video ends with a strong declaration: “So I will not tolerate Mexico slander.”

Tristan’s words have been warmly received by Mexican and Latino audiences across the United States, which have praised his clarity, empathy, and courage. Some users have even called him the “ambassador of cross-border respect” and followed and written in his account to personally thank him.

In times of polarization and anti-immigrant rhetoric, the voice of this young boy rises as a call for recognition and mutual respect between neighboring nations. As one follower commented, “If only more adults had the awareness of this young Texan.”
