  • A Main Base was established at the Pachuca Airport, and two Forward Logistics Bases in Zimapán and Zacualtipán, where 21 helicopters will operate: 14 aircraft from the Ministry of National Defense and seven from other government divisions.
  • They have the capacity to transport 4,872 food packages per day, benefiting 19,488 people affected by the rains and flooding, as well as to deliver medicines and transport residents requiring medical care.

Mexico City, October 15, 2025.— The Mexican government reports that the Ministry of National Defense has activated three Command Centers in the state of Hidalgo, with 111 air bridges using 21 helicopters — 14 from the Ministry of National Defense and seven from other government divisions — establishing a Main Base at Pachuca Airport and two Forward Logistics Bases in Zimapán and Zacualtipán. These bases have the capacity to transport 4,872 food packages per day, benefiting 19,488 people affected by the heavy rains and flooding.

The Forward Logistics Bases will be supplied with food packages transported by tractor-trailers. The aid will then be distributed by air to isolated localities, in order to speed up deliveries given that many roads remain closed.

During the morning press conference, “The People’s Mañanera”, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized the importance of establishing these Command Centers, which provide assistance to the population affected by the heavy rains and flooding.

Minister of National Defense General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo reported that, following instructions from the President, he traveled to Hidalgo to supervise the installation of the three Command Centers:

– The Main Base, equipped with 10 helicopters, supplies 57 communities.
– The Zimapán Forward Base has five helicopters supplying 28 communities.
– The Zacualtipán Base operates six helicopters serving 26 communities.

He noted that this deployment, launched on October 14, is transporting food, water, and medicine, as well as residents requiring specialized medical care. In addition, these flights are helping to gather information on roads that remain cut off, data that is shared with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) and with crews equipped with heavy machinery to help clear and reopen roads.
