President Claudia Sheinbaum Touring Areas Affected By Heavy Rains And Flooding In Veracruz, Hidalgo, and Puebla

This weekend, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo continued touring the areas affected by last week’s torrential rainfall and flooding.
President Sheinbaum supervised the progress in emergency response efforts in various communities in Veracruz, Hidalgo, and Puebla.
On Friday, she visited Poza Rica, Álamo, and Tempoal, where she led the general evaluation of cleanup efforts.
These communities are receiving attention for street cleanup, restoration of services and communications, household census, as well providing supplies of food, water, and materials.

“You are not alone,” the President asserted.

On Saturday, President Sheinbaum was in Huehuetla and Tianguistengo, Hidalgo, where she informed the population about progress in opening road that had been closed, the arrival of additional aid, and the census conducted by Servants of the
Nation social workers.
On Sunday, she visited the temporary shelter in El Carrizal and other areas of the community of Pantepec, Puebla, to supervise the cleanup efforts and give a message to the flood victims.

“We will leave no one behind,” she told them. For the tours this weekend, the President added meetings at the command centers of these three states with their respective governors – Rocío Nahle, of Veracruz, Julio Menchaca, of Hidalgo, and Alejandro Armenta, of Puebla.
These territorial meetings were independent from the nightly meeting she has been leading daily for over a week with her cabinet at the National Emergency Committee.
The President has taken command of the relief efforts for this emergency since day one, with the support of more than 52,000 public servants deployed on the ground, to whom she has expressed her acknowledgement for their efforts. These include the armed forces, the Servants of the Nation social workers, and personnel from the Federal Electricity Commission and the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation, among many others.
