The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico reports on the results obtained from 'Operation Northern Border' on May 21, 2025.

Since the beginning of the operation on February 5, some 3,552 suspects have been arrested and 2,984 firearms, 498,692 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 14,492 magazines, 32,262.70 kg of drugs, including 189.80 kg of fentanyl, 2,717 vehicles, and 446 properties have been seized, acoording to the Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico.

These actions were carried out in strict compliance with the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. Among the seizures and arrests, the following were the most significant:

– Baja California

In Tijuana, two suspects were arrested and two handguns, two magazines, 12 rounds of ammunition, and three cell phones were seized.

In other operations, three suspects were arrested and 68 grams of crystal methamphetamine and five grams of methamphetamine were seized.

– Chihuahua

In Ciudad Juarez, a suspect was arrested and two handguns, three magazines, 13 rounds of ammunition, 2.8 kilograms of heroin, and a vehicle were seized.

– Coahuila

In Frontera, two suspects were arrested and 960 doses of methamphetamine, 79 doses of cocaine, a rifle, a handgun, and a property were seized.

– Sinaloa

In Culiacán, 10 rifles, 14 handguns, 94 magazines, a hand grenade, a submachine gun, 181 doses of cocaine, 133 doses of marijuana, three improvised explosive devices, 42 cell phones, seven modems, a tablet, 22 radios, and a tunnel approximately five meters deep were seized.

In Cosalá, five storage facilities for different methamphetamine inputs were located and dismantled. During the operations, 800 liters of chemical substances for the production of the drug, an organic synthesis reactor, and a lab condenser were seized. The economic impact on the criminal organizations is 17 million pesos (US$870,000).

– Sonora

In Cajeme, eight rounds of ammunition, a rifle, a magazine, and a vehicle were seized.

In Ciudad Obregón, seven video cameras irregularly installed in public spaces were located and removed.

– Tamaulipas

In Reynosa, 18 rounds of ammunition, a rifle, a magazine, and a vehicle with handmade armor were seized.
